The Council for the National Interest Foundation is an educational and outreach organization that advocates for Middle East policies that are in the US national interest. The CNI Foundation explains, through its educational and media activities, how current American policies harm American interests and recommends balanced alternatives. It is a 501(c)3 organization. Donations to it are therefore tax-deductible under U.S. law.
The CNI Foundation is part of the CNI family of organizations, which includes the independent, legally unconnected Council for the National Interest, a 501(c)4 (lobbying) organization that is not tax-deductible.
The CNI Foundation’s main programs are:
- The Political Pilgrimage program, which organizes two or more trips by U.S. citizen-diplomats to Israel, the occupied territories, and all the neighboring countries;
- The CNI: Jerusalem Calling internet-radio show, which airs weekly;
- A lively blog titled “Fair policy, Fair discussion”; and
- The Partners for Peace program, which organizes the “Jerusalem Women Speak” tours, which bring Jewish, Muslim, and Christian women from Jerusalem to speak together to audiences in the U.S.
