This year, UNRWA is marking its 60th anniversary of providing relief services to those Palestinians who became refugees during the 1948 Arab-Jewish war during which the state of Israel was born. How are the Palestinian refugees faring today? What are their hopes and dreams? What responsibilities do Israel, the PA, and the rest of the world have toward them? How can they be most effectively brought into the peace diplomacy?
Ms. Cobban, who is CNI’s new executive director, is just back from leading a short, UNRWA-hosted tour of Gaza. She looks forward to exploring these issues with Dr. Khalidi and Mr. Gunness in the December 3 show.
