Israel’s Dominance of Washington

Dec 18 2021 / 2:15 pm

It’s worse than ever but the “apartheid state” is increasingly under pressure

At the end of every year, I like to comment on the progress – and the setbacks – in our struggle to make the United States government understand that it exists to improve lives for Americans rather than working full time to pander to the Israelis and their powerful domestic lobby. One would have thought that it could not get worse than the Donald Trump Administration’s crawling on its knees to satisfy every whim expressed or left unexpressed by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, truly one of the most evil men ever to walk the face of the earth. Trump withdrew from the nuclear treaty with Iran, a move which was driven by Israel and its US lobby backed up by inducements from GOP megadonor Sheldon Adelson. As Israel is a secret nuclear power, a program developed around technology and uranium stolen from the United States, the Trump move was the ultimate in hypocrisy, enabling what most nations would regard as a rogue state to have the nuclear option vis-à-vis its relatively defenseless neighbors.

Beyond that, and without any real urging by Israel, Trump showered gift after gift on the Jewish state, moving the US Embassy to Jerusalem in violation of the city’s “international” status, recognizing Israel’s annexation of the illegally occupied Syrian Golan Heights, and endorsing Israel’s “right” to deal with the Palestinians on the West Bank as it sees fit. None of those actions were in support of any actual American interests, nor was it even necessary to do them to placate the Israelis. Nor was it an American interest to release from parole convicted Israeli spy Jonathan Pollard, the most damaging spy in US history, so he could emigrate to Israel where he received a hero’s welcome. Since Trump’s departure from office, it has been learned that it was Trump’s Jewish and Zionist son-in-law Jared Kushner who was directing much of the policy on Israel-Palestine.

Recently, Trump, for whom the word “delusional” often seems to apply, stated emphatically that Israel has “rightfully” controlled the US Congress but does not do so any more. In an interview with someone named Ari Hoffman, Trump declared that “The biggest change I’ve seen in Congress, Israel literally owned Congress –you understand that?–ten years ago, fifteen years ago. And it was so powerful. It was so powerful. And today, it is almost the opposite. You have, between AOC and Omar and these people that hate Israel with a passion, they’re controlling Congress. Israel is not a force in Congress anymore! It’s amazing. I’ve never seen such a change. And we’re not talking about over a very long period of time, I think you know exactly what I’m saying. They had such power. Israel had such power, and rightfully, over Congress. And now it doesn’t! It’s incredible, actually.”

As evidence for that assertion by Trump is lacking, particularly as Congress continues to shower weapons and money on Netanyahu and his successor Naftali Bennett, one has to assume that the Donald is as ignorant regarding the Israel Lobby’s dominance of Congress. He must have missed the appropriation of a billion dollars so the Israelis could rebuild their missile stockpiles after they launched them all at Palestinian apartment buildings, hospitals and schools. And then there are the billions more for Israel coming from lopsided trade and fraudulent charitable and rigged co-development schemes, plus the money hidden in major appropriations like the Defense and Homeland Security funding.

Trump’s inability to comprehend the truth about Israel and its corruption of our government is one more good reason why the Republicans should never ever let him run for president again. But, of course, the GOP at all levels loves Israel just as much as do the Democrats. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s unforgettable and unforgiveable comment that “I have said to people when they ask me if this Capitol crumbled to the ground, the one thing that would remain is our commitment to our aid…and I don’t even call it aid…our cooperation with Israel. That’s fundamental to who we are” could have just as easily come out of the mouth of her Republican counterpart Kevin McCarthy.

So what has Joe Biden done now that Trump is gone and we Americans have had eleven more months to suffer under Israeli domination? Well, one might observe that he absurdly invited Israel to participate in the ludicrous “Democracy Summit” which was hosted last week by the White House even though “apartheid” Israel is no democracy and discriminates in virtually every function of government by both religion and race, having Jews only roads, schools and housing projects. Other countries that have elections and do not discriminate in similar fashion among their citizens, to include Russia, Turkey, Brazil, Poland and Hungary were excluded. The only Arab state invited was Iraq.

Nevertheless, beyond that, one thing to notice is that the game and the narrative have shifted considerably in the past year. Joe Biden and his all-Jewish State Department team have toyed with reentering into the nuclear agreement (JCPOA) with Iran by way of indirect talks taking place in Vienna, but the game being played out has been a fraud right from the beginning. Biden believed it to be politically expedient to promise to pick up the pieces of what was once genuinely regarded as a significant Barack Obama Administration success which would have inhibited any possible Iranian nuclear proliferation. But the real agenda has been political, i.e. not to cut a deal with Iran but rather to blame Trump for a major foreign policy blunder.

There has never been any real intention to return to the status quo ante with Iran because it would also require Israel’s approval, which is not forthcoming. And both the dual loyalty of many American Jews and the willingness of Israeli government officials to interfere directly in US politics were on display during a recent appearance by Israeli Minister of Diaspora Affairs Nachman Shai at the Park Avenue Synagogue. Shai suggested that a “crisis” might be coming between the US and Israel over the Iran deal, and Israel will need American Jews to come to its side against President Joe Biden if necessary. He said that “During many crises… many issues between Israel and the United States, American Jewry has always been there supporting Israel.” Indeed.

A new deal with Iran would as well require the cancellation of the broad range of punitive sanctions put in place against Tehran by Trump but Biden has seen fit to buy into the Trumpean concept that pressuring Iran might “improve” the agreement, adding to it measures to prevent Iranian “meddling” in the region as well as to place a hold on Iranian ballistic missile development. Those steps and demands were well known by the White House to be game breakers for Iran, which has been fully compliant with the JCPOA and is asking for a return to the original agreement together with a guarantee that a new administration in 2024 will not backtrack on it.

Both Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett and Foreign Minister Yair Lapid have made numerous trips to the United States to attach the new US president firmly to their derrieres. At each visit they are met by Biden, his Cabinet, and the usual parasitic Jewish organizations that they depend on to open Uncle Sam’s wallet and provide total, uncritical support for everything the kleptocratic regime in Jerusalem chooses to do. Defense Minister Benny Gantz and Mossad chief David Barnea are currently in Washington to meet with senior Biden administration officials. Israeli media is reporting that they are in town to assist in the planning for the United States to carry out a military strike on Iranian targets when the negotiations in Vienna predictably fail. Indeed, Bennett has demanded that the talks be ended because Iran is engaging in “nuclear blackmail.” Both Biden and Secretary of State Tony Blinken have already warned that if Iran does not agree to a new arrangement, there will be consequences, including exercise of a possible military option.

The warm embrace by Israel is characteristically heedless of any actual American interests that it might compromise. Israeli telephone spyware developed by the NSO Group has recently been discovered on the devices of iPhone users, including at least nine US State Department employees. It comes on top of Israeli communications interception devices “spyware” discovered in Washington in 2019. Israelis spy on the United States because they know that to do so is consequence free.

Meanwhile, the involvement of Israel in American politics just keeps getting deeper. Alison Weir of If Americans Knew has reported how in the midst of the trauma caused by the COVID virus in 2020 Congress was still able to “toil unwaveringly to win massive military aid money and special treats for the Jewish State with 68 pieces of legislation focused on Israel.”

The corruption has also penetrated to state and local levels. Twenty-seven states have adopted legislation that limits the First Amendment right to free speech by penalizing those who boycott Israel. A dozen state level attorneys-general have sought divestment from British company Unilever because one of its brands, Ben & Jerry’s, doesn’t want to sell ice cream in Israeli occupied territory. At a number of universities in the US, Britain and Canada teachers have been fired or otherwise punished when trying to teach courses on the Middle East that accurately describe the ruthless Israeli occupation of historic Palestine.

But there also has been a shift in focus outside of government. On the bright side, such as there is one, much of the world has finally realized just how evil Israel is. It is now widely accepted that the country’s government runs a genuinely “apartheid” regime and many governments and even some corporations have begun to use the word. Labor unions worldwide have arranged protests against Israeli repression of the Palestinians and even Google and Amazon employees have petitioned against their companies’ involvement with the Jewish state’s military. Belgium and other European states now require imported items produced in the Israeli settlements to be labeled as such, not “Made in Israel.” And many liberal Jews, who normally kept quiet about what Israel does, have begun to agree openly with that “apartheid” designation, particularly true among younger Jews. The shift came about gradually after the horrific Israeli attacks on Gaza over the past two years, which have killed mostly civilians and devastated the impoverished region’s infrastructure. Since then, Israeli settlers have been on a rampage, stealing homes and attacking Palestinian civilians while also destroying their livelihoods with impunity as IDF soldiers stand by to watch. The world has become tired of Israel and its pretensions, though not yet in the US Congress or White House, nor in the Zionist controlled US media.

Israel and its powerful lobbies recognize the shift in perceptions and have launched a major international campaign to make criticism of the Jewish state a “hate crime.” They have been quite successful at exploiting the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance (IHRA) definition of anti-Semitism, which includes criticism of Israel. Both the US Congress and the recently completed conference on allegedly resurgent anti-Semitism held in Sweden have fully embraced the perpetual victimhood promoted by Israel and have taken steps to criminalize criticism of Jews and Israel. Britain has responded to the claimed surge in anti-Semitism by designating the Hamas organization, which governs Gaza, as a terror group. Home Secretary Priti Patel told reporters in Washington that the move is intended to combat anti-Semitism using the Terrorism Act and that Hamas supporters who go to group meetings or even display a Hamas flag could be sentenced to 10 years in prison.

So, as is often the case, there has been progress, but also some setbacks. On the progress side of the ledger the world has become tired of Israel’s claim of special exemption and ultimately the Jewish state will become more isolated and its policies untenable as pressure mounts, just as South Africa was forced to embrace change. But, at the same time, the Israelis have been largely successful at convincing governments in Europe as well as in the US to move forward on criminalizing and marginalizing legitimate criticism. They have also successfully sold, via a fully controlled mainstream media, the myth that anti-Semitism is surging, ignoring the fact that as any criticism of Israel is reckoned to be an anti-Semitic act it is easy to come up with whatever numbers one would like to exploit. But the real “mystery question” continues to be how the wealthiest, best educated, most powerful and privileged demographic in countries like the US, Britain, France and Canada is able to continue to portray itself as the perpetual victim and get away with the imposture. One has to hope that ultimately the veil will drop and ordinary voters will be able to see and understand the massive international conspiratorial fraud that has prevailed for the past seventy years. Let us hope for some real change in 2022!
