Israeli Settlers Destroy Solar Panels Near Hebron

Mar 28 2014 / 6:05 pm

IMEMC, 3/28/14 – Israeli settlers destroyed, Thursday, power-generating solar panels near Yatta in Hebron district, a local activist has said.

Settlers from the illegal “Mztveh Yaˈir” settlement, established on Palestinian lands to the east of Yatta, smashed five power-generating solar panels belonging to Khirbet Bir Al-Abed, WAFA reports. The panels were built with funds made available through the German Agency for International Development (GIZ), according to activist Naser Nawajʻa.

Nawajʻa along with the residents of Khirbet Bir Al-‘Abed called upon relevant international organizations and local institutions to intervene, to provide protection for the residents against ongoing Israeli army and settlers’ attacks and to help them remain steadfast on their lands, which are threatened with seizure for the benefit of settlement construction.
